News & Events

Posted below are impending parish events. Please read the Bulletins for details on these and future activities.

Brothers in Christ will meet Sunday November 26th in the St. David kitchen at 6pm. We will be assisting fellow parishioners at the weekly St. David Food Pantry distribution. Please bring laundry detergent for those in need. We will meet for prayer and discussion from 7pm to 8pm in room 108. The discussion topic will be gratitude and greed; bring a snack or some Thanksgiving leftovers to share.

PSR NEWS We will not be holding PSR classes on Wednesday, November 22. We hope that all of our St. David parishioners will have a happy, blessed Thanksgiving. As we gather with family and friends, we remember that all good gifts come from our generous Lord. We pray together with hearts full of gratitude for His mercy.

Christmas Caroling All are invited to meet at St David’s after December 2nd 4:30 Mass. Weather permitting.. We intend to sing Christmas Songs at nearby homebound parishioners home. Children must be accompanied by a guardian/ parent. We will come back to St David for something warm and sweet to eat! Please contact Natasha Ranes 314-805-6326 by phone, text or any Activities Committee member if you are interested. We would like to know the number of people planning to come.

Respect Life Apostolate Events 1. We are starting to collect donations of gently used Christmas items for our Annual Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale held Dec. 9/10. The Pro-Life Baby Pen is now in the gym foyer and you may place your donations there. 2. Christmas Cards will be available beginning Nov. 11/12 after all the weekend Masses at the church vestibule entrance. 3. Teenagers and adults interested in attending the March for Life in Washington DC, January 18-20 should contact Dana Henson (314) 435-9559 by Dec. 15. We try to financially assist each of you as much as possible. Thank you for your participation and interest in all human life.

BULLETIN NEWS The end of the year is fast approaching and as always St. David will be putting an End of the Year Review together for one of our December bulletins. Please submit any milestone events (ex. weddings, baptisms, anniversaries), pictures (please list those in the picture), organizational events and news or any other information you would like to share with the parish that have taken place here at St. David or that involved St. David parishioners by December 12 to Linda at: stdavid@swbell.net

Thank you Scramble players! The Scrabble Scramble was a great time for all the partakers! The Activities Committee members, the basket makers (you know who you are!) and the PSR students thanks for their time, talent and support. The baskets were phenomenally arranged. Team Murphy – Overmann graciously donated their winnings to add to the total of $770.00 for the parish.

40 Days for Life Campaign The 40 Days for Life Campaign is well underway. It began September 27 and runs until November 5th. 40 Days For Life is a peaceful, prayerful vigil on the sidewalk in front of Planned Parenthood at Forest Park and Boyle Ave. By virtue of our baptism we are called to protect the innocent, and who is more innocent than a baby? Please consider committing to an hour on the sidewalk during the time our parish has committed to being there, November 2, from 7 am until 12 noon. To sign up for an hour or half hour please contact Mary McMahn at 314-526- 7736 or mcmahanmary@att.net This would be a great service project for those preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation and their sponsors. Prayer has power, it changes things, it saves lives and life is precious.
